Client guide, domain access

Point your domain to Skylift.

Step-by-step instructions for granting Skylift access to your domain registrar. Find your provider below.

What we need

To launch your new site, we need to update your domain's DNS records so it points to your Skylift-hosted website. The easiest way is to grant us delegate or collaborator access to your domain registrar. You keep full ownership, we just need permission to update DNS.

Find your registrar below and follow the steps. If yours isn't listed, email us at [email protected] and we'll walk you through it.

GoDaddy
  1. Log in to your GoDaddy account at godaddy.com.
  2. Click your name in the top-right corner, then select "Delegate Access."
  3. Click "Invite to Access."
  4. Enter the email: [email protected]
  5. Under permissions, select "Domain" and set the access level to "Editor" (not purchaser).
  6. Click "Send Invite." We'll accept it within a few hours and let you know.
Note: You stay the account owner. Delegate access lets us manage DNS records without seeing your billing info or other products.
Namecheap
  1. Log in to your Namecheap account at namecheap.com.
  2. Go to "Domain List" in the left sidebar and find your domain.
  3. Click "Manage" next to your domain.
  4. Scroll down to "Sharing & Transfer" and click "Share."
  5. Enter the email: [email protected] and select "Edit" level access.
  6. Click "Share Domain." We'll confirm once we have access.
Note: Namecheap sharing gives us DNS management access only. Your account login and billing stay private.
Squarespace Domains
  1. Log in to your Squarespace account at squarespace.com.
  2. Go to Settings > Domains.
  3. Click on the domain you want to share.
  4. Squarespace doesn't have delegate access, you'll need to either: (a) transfer DNS management to Cloudflare (we can help with this), or (b) update DNS records yourself with our guidance.
  5. Email us at [email protected] and we'll send you the exact DNS records to enter.
Note: If your domain and website are both on Squarespace, we'll help you separate them during the migration. Your domain stays yours.
Google Domains (now Squarespace)
  1. Google Domains was acquired by Squarespace in 2023. Your domain is now managed at squarespace.com.
  2. Log in to your Squarespace account with the Google account you originally used for Google Domains.
  3. Navigate to Domains in the left sidebar.
  4. Follow the Squarespace Domains steps above, or email us and we'll guide you through updating DNS records directly.
Note: The migration from Google Domains to Squarespace preserved all your DNS settings. Nothing changed except the management interface.
Cloudflare
  1. Log in to your Cloudflare dashboard at dash.cloudflare.com.
  2. Click the domain you want to share.
  3. Go to "Manage Account" > "Members" in the left sidebar.
  4. Click "Invite Member."
  5. Enter the email: [email protected]
  6. Set the role to "Administrator" (for the specific domain, not the whole account).
  7. Click "Invite." We'll accept and confirm within a few hours.
Note: If you have multiple domains on Cloudflare, we only need access to the one domain we're building on.
Other registrar
  1. Email us at [email protected] with your registrar name (e.g., Hover, Porkbun, Gandi, 1&1/IONOS).
  2. We'll send you a short email with the exact steps for your platform, or hop on a quick screenshare to do it together.
Note: If you're not sure who your registrar is, go to whois.domaintools.com and look up your domain, the registrar name will appear near the top of the results.
